November 2009 - Research tour to Whitsunday Islands including Whitsunday Rent a Yacht (Highland 35 power cat), Peppers Coral Coast Airlie Beach and Hayman Island.

 

October 2009 - Flying by private jet from Nadi to Laucala Island Fiji, I'll be reporting back on this exclusive private retreat.

 

August 2009 - Visiting Thailand for the ASTW AGM in Bangkok, followed by a tour through southern Thailand.

 

July 2009 - Sydney Boat Show, visit to Melbourne then a road trip through the interior of the east coast from Melbourne to Townsville.

 

May 2009 - See you at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show on the Ultimate Boating & Lifestyle magazine stand. Fiona will also be covering Australia's premier boat show for the Australian Marinas Guide and Australian Yachting.

Taking on the role of Marketing Manager for the non profit organisation Magnetic Jazz Assoc, Fiona has recently launched the Magnetic Island Jazz website. The Great Tropical Jazz Party is the signature event organised by Magnetic Jazz. The 2009 event will be held over three days and two nights between 11 and 13 September. The Great Tropical Jazz Party sees 40 acclaimed Australian and international jazz musicians descending on the tropical Queensland island, just 20 minutes by ferry from Townsville, for five sessions of day and night time jazz.

 

March 2009 - The Australian Marinas Guide is now six months old and receiving huge acclaim from boat owners, marina operators and the marine media. Many years in research and development are starting to pay off as site visitor numbers continue to increase. Writing commissions are stacking up, defying all the naysayers who say the world is ending and no-one is travelling! Recent research trips have been undertaken to Hobart & the Huon Valley, Cairns, Port Douglas and off lying islands and Great Barrier Reef, as well as a diversion into Mossman Gorge. The waterfalls are phenomenal and the rainforest is alive after a tumultuous wet season.

 

Nov 2008 - Returned from China, visiting major cities of Shanghai and Beijing. Additionally, Fiona visited rural regions of northern China, including Henan and Shanxi Provinces.

 

Oct 2008 - Exploring the Capricorn Coast . Contact Fiona for exclusive commissions on this little known region of central Queensland including the Keppel group of islands, Yeppoon and Rockhampton.

Look out for Fiona Harper's article in the upcoming Tourism Australia promotion for Baz Luhrman's Australia movie. To be released in Nov 2008, the publication will be distributed in the Weekend Australian newspaper.

 

September 2008 - Fiona is proud to support Jessica Watson's record breaking attempt to become the youngest person to sail solo, non-stop unassisted around the world . Jessica will be 16 years old when she starts her voyage in November 2009. Her website is now live, as her campaign builds momentum towards her departure in 2009.
